EHSS Manager

Responsible for continuous improvement in the environmental, health, safety, and security culture for the assigned Potato Network region.  This will be done by improving the levels of safety awareness, regulatory compliance and security through the leadership of strong involvement, heighten awareness, accountability and best practices. Partners closely with other EHSS Managers to provide consistency across entire network.

As an EHSS Manager, your responsibilities will include

  • Partner with corporate EHSS managers and other Regional EHSS Manager to develop potato plant network’s EHSS programs to ensure compliance with Federal, State and Local, regulations and Ingredion Corporate standards and guidelines. 
  • Leadership of the regional EHSS processes, providing management to individual site EHSS leads.
  • Develop/manage the security protocols/processes for the plants in respect to employee safety and in compliance with the Food Safety Act.
  • Understand the respective state Workers Compensation laws for plants in the region.
  • Develop processes and procedures to ensure Incident and Injury reporting conducted in timely and accurate manner.  Ensures investigations are thorough and sites implement effective preventative and corrective actions.
  • Responsible for ensuring sites maintain environmental compliance with regards to air, water, sewer and storm water; to include monitoring for changes in regulations and developing training programs for site employees.
  • Provide guidance to site EHSS lead for activities, such as First Aid Responder training and site safety committee leadership.
  • Sets annual metrics and training requirements for EHSS goals and focal points for the region.
  • Develops training programs for EHSS Leads to administer via classroom or digital learning management platforms.
  • Develop and implement regional safety improvement plans to ensure progress towards continuous improvement and overall company goals.
  • Motivate sites to engage in proactive EHSS and sustainability activities to drive program and performance improvements.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity.
  • Ability to build trust and confidence on all levels within the Ingredion organization and local site.

The EHSS Manager position is well-suited for you if you have

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and function in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated strong employee relations skills (change management, facilitation skills). 
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the facility.

Qualified candidates will have

  • BS or MS degree in an industrial health or science related field preferred.
  • Greater than 5 years’ experience in safety, health, and environmental management in a manufacturing environment.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation preferred
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Medical, Fire Prevention, Security Defense knowledge.
  • Good investigation techniques to find root cause and proper corrective actions.
  • Good speaking and presentation skills.
