PBS Engineering and Environmental Inc. is looking to expand our Industrial Hygiene (IH) Team in Tri-Cities and is looking for an entry level Industrial Hygiene Professional. We have a proven track record of providing quality service to our Eastern Washington clients for over 20 years from our Richland office. This position will work closely with our Tri-Cities Industrial Hygiene Lead and will work on a wide variety of projects within the built environment by completing pre-demolition surveys, air sampling and monitoring, and preparation of reports on a variety of hazardous materials that could be potentially encountered in the field.

Our team in Tri-Cities is looking to grow and wants to find people who are as driven as they are to succeed and serve our clients, contractors, and communities that we live and work in. We work closely with a variety of clients from Architects and Engineers, to School Administrators and abatement contractors. Our work is diverse and often fast paced. PBS has a proven track record of career pathing in the industrial hygiene field. Many of our senior professionals have been with the company for over 20+ years and are more than willing to mentor the next group of IH professionals coming into the industry.
The Tri-Cities Industrial Hygiene Professional will perform tasks consistent with the industrial hygiene service line. This will include building surveys, abatement designs, construction oversight, IAQ investigations, exposure assessments, etc. This position will report directly to our local Industrial Hygiene Lead and will be supported by a number of different offices and professionals in the company.
Our goal is to provide the capabilities of national firms, but with the personal connection of a local company. To do this, we promote engagement between our Industrial Hygienists and clients, and the forging of relationships through consistent delivery of quality work.
- Project oversight for asbestos and lead abatement projects
- Hazardous building material surveys
- Indoor air quality evaluations
- Report preparation
- General project administrative duties
Minimum Qualifications Include
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Health and Safety, or a related field is required
- Able to function in a collaborative team environment, while also able to operate independently
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
- A valid driver’s license
- Ability to manage multiple projects on multiple sites throughout the Pacific Northwest
- Previous experience in Industrial Hygiene consulting is desired but not required
