Lower Columbia Basin ASSP Chapter Meeting

  •  November 3, 2021
     6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Our Speaker is our very own Treasurer – Denise Pitts. She will be speaking on a cave rescue that she was part of; and successfully rescued two individuals from the Donaldson Cave.

Synopsis

In 1985 two individuals entered Donaldson Cave, a wet cave in Mitchell, Indiana, ignoring the warning signs and the rainy weather. As the water level in the cave rose, they were washed off their feet. One individual was washed out of the cave and the other was missing.  This presentation discusses the search and rescue of the missing cave explorer and the hazards as well as hazard controls that are necessary to consider during any rescue mission or cave exploration.
