Topic: Non-ionizing radiation safety related to telecommunications industry (ie. radio waves, microwaves, ELF)

Speaker: Dave Boggs

 

 

Dave Boggs, began in broadcast communications while still in high school. Working for KREM TV in Spokane he learned about installation of Satellite receive antennas and transmitter facility maintenance. Joining the Army after graduation, he served as a Tactical Satellite and Microwave systems operator. During his nearly eleven year Army career, He worked with Line of Sight Microwave, Satellite Terminals and Digital Tropo-scatter Microwave systems. Leaving the Army he focused on Microwave communications and became an engineer with Time Warner’s ATC Microwave Division. He spent the next seventeen years designing, developing and deploying microwave radio systems throughout the northwest United States and British Columbia. Broadcasting both analog and digital video signals as well as audio, to over one hundred communication facilities. He is currently employed as an Electronics Technician with the Grant County PUD. He not only holds a General Radiotelephone license from the FCC, but is also an amateur (Ham) radio operator. His lifelong goal in the improved professionalism and increased safety of the telecommunications worker.
